Lahore registers more vehicles than any other district in Punjab, and its used vehicle market is the largest in the province. Every one of those vehicles sits in the same MTMIS Punjab database as the rest of the province. This guide covers MTMIS Lahore in practice: how Lahore vehicles are verified, where the Lahore Excise touchpoints are, and when a visit to an office is genuinely required. The full system is explained in MTMIS Punjab: the complete guide to online vehicle verification.

One portal for Lahore and all of Punjab
There is no separate MTMIS Lahore website, and any page that presents itself as one is a guide site or a copy. Lahore-registered vehicles are verified on the provincial portal at mtmis.excise.punjab.gov.pk, alongside vehicles from Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and every other district, because every district Motor Registration Authority feeds one central database maintained by the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department with PITB.
Lahore registrations are easy to recognise in the record. The district has run through many plate series over the years, and series beginning with letters such as LEA and LEB are widely associated with Lahore registrations. Copy the number from the plate or the card rather than from memory, because one wrong letter sends the search to a different series.
How verification works for Lahore-registered vehicles
The online process is the provincial one, and it takes about a minute. Open the portal, open the vehicle verification option, and enter three inputs: the registration number, the registration date printed on the smart card or registration book, and the security code shown on the page. The record that returns shows the owner name and city, the make, model and year, the engine number, the token tax paid-up-to date and any live application against the vehicle. The online result does not display the chassis number, so compare the chassis number on the card or book with the stamping on the frame of the vehicle. Every field is walked through in how to verify a vehicle online on MTMIS Punjab, step by step.
Two records describe a Lahore vehicle. The Excise record covers registration, ownership and token tax. Camera-issued traffic fines sit in a separate record held by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, and the guide on how to check and pay a Punjab e-challan online covers that check. A clean Excise record says nothing about unpaid camera fines, so check both before a purchase.

Lahore Excise and MRA touchpoints
Most Lahore work no longer needs an office, because verification, dues and payments run online. When a counter is required, these are the touchpoints that matter.
- Department head office and Directorate General, Transport House, 11-A Egerton Road. The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department is headquartered at Transport House on Egerton Road, opposite Faletti’s Hotel. This is the provincial head office for policy matters, escalations and complaints, and the department helpline is 1035.
- Motor Registration Authority (MRA) Lahore offices. The district registration counters handle the file-level work: registration, transfer support, duplicate documents and record correction for Lahore-registered vehicles. Public listings place MRA counters in the city including the PIA Road area near Hakim Chowk and on Walton Road. Confirm the current counter for your series on the department website before you travel.
- Facilitation and Khidmat centres. Biometric verification for transfers and a range of counter services are available at facilitation centres across the city, and the department runs an appointment service for counter visits. The PITB helpline, 0800-08786, can confirm the nearest working centre.
- Online first. Verification runs on the portal, dues and payments run through ePay Punjab, and appointments can be booked before a visit, so counter time is spent on the file rather than in a queue.
When an office visit is required
Some problems cannot be closed on the portal. An office visit to the MRA is required in these situations.
- The record does not exist online. Very old Lahore vehicles that were never digitised can only be confirmed against the paper file at the MRA office.
- The record is wrong. An incorrect engine number, colour or owner detail must be corrected on the file by the registering authority, supported by documents and, where needed, a physical inspection of the vehicle.
- The chassis or engine stamping does not match the record. This is an inspection matter. The department verifies the vehicle physically before any correction is made, and a buyer should never accept a promise that the office will sort it out after the sale.
- A complete CNIC-linked list is needed. The open portal limits the personal data it displays, so an owner who needs formal confirmation of every vehicle recorded against a CNIC should attend the MRA with the original CNIC.
- A card or book has been lost, or a returned smart card must be collected. Duplicate documents and undelivered cards are issued and handed over through the office of the district of registration.
Carry the original smart card or registration book, the CNIC of the registered owner, and the vehicle itself where an inspection is likely.

Buying a used vehicle in Lahore
The size of the Lahore market means its fraud patterns are well established, so run the online check yourself at the vehicle, never from a screenshot the seller supplies. Match the owner name to the CNIC of the seller, the engine number to the stamping on the engine, and the chassis number on the card to the stamping on the frame. Check the token tax paid-up-to date, then check the separate e-challan record for camera fines. Complete the transfer biometrically after purchase; an open letter leaves the record, and the legal risk, with the seller.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a separate MTMIS Lahore portal?
No. Lahore vehicles are verified on the single provincial portal at mtmis.excise.punjab.gov.pk, because every district Motor Registration Authority feeds the same central database. Pages that present themselves as a separate Lahore portal are guide websites, not government services.
Where is the main Excise office in Lahore?
The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department is headquartered at Transport House, 11-A Egerton Road, opposite Faletti’s Hotel, and the department helpline is 1035. District file work for Lahore-registered vehicles is handled at the MRA Lahore counters.
Why does my Lahore vehicle show no record online?
First check the series letters and the registration date for typing errors. If the inputs are correct, the vehicle may be an old registration that was never digitised, and only the MRA office can confirm it against the paper file. A vehicle registered outside Punjab will also return nothing on this portal.
Can token tax for a Lahore vehicle be paid without visiting an office?
Yes. Dues are calculated and paid through ePay Punjab, which issues a 17-digit PSID that can be paid through a bank application, an ATM or a mobile wallet. The payment then reflects in the verification record.
Does a clean MTMIS record mean a Lahore vehicle has no fines?
No. The MTMIS record covers registration, ownership and token tax, while camera-issued fines sit in the separate Punjab Safe Cities Authority e-challan record. A Lahore purchase should be checked against both records, because the two systems do not clear each other.
